Safariland is a well-respected choice among law enforcement, military personnel, and in recent years, a whole lot of kitted civilians (based). They're mainly known for two things: the best platform-specific holsters on the market, and their pedigree for great quality body armor.

This vest in particular holds BALCS armor inserts (not included, but available in many places both new and used) and sits very close & snug to the user's body. Everything down to the elastic cummerbund's hook & loop attachment is extremely low profile and allows for easy concealment when necessary.

On the interior of the carrier is a comfortable jersey-type mesh  where the plate inserts can be revealed, and the exterior features a durable ripstop fabric that will hold up to abrasions from covert or overt use alike.

The whole system is easy to disassemble & resize to your needs, and is also machine washable for easy maintenance. With proper upkeep, it'll last longer than several armor insert's lifetimes, or just long enough to probably save your life — either way it's well worth it.

• Remove ballistic panels prior to washing
• Place hook and loop fasteners in closed positions
• Machine or hand wash garment at low temperature
• DO NOT USE HOT WATER OR BLEACH
• Do not wring or twist garment
• Garment may be tumble dried at low temperature. Remove immediately after drying cycle is complete.
• DO NOT IRON
• Garment must be completely dry prior to ballistic panel insertion
• DO NOT ATTEMPT TO DYE ITEM OR REPAIR IT. TURN IN FOR REPAIR REPLACEMENT (This one and the next one is obviously optional, more relevant for when it's issued to military and police)
• Turn in your vest/plates if:

• the outer cover is torn or damaged
• the vest is "bunched" and lumps cannot be flattened
• the side our shoulder hook and loop fasteners cannot be closed
• the elastic is torn or damaged
• the vest cannot be cleaned
• the vest or plates have had ballistic damage

Condition

Armor Carriers in are unissued condition, with minimal to no wear from storage.
